For Experienced Makers

If you’re seeking a space to cultivate your skills without the burden of renting a workshop, or if you simply wish to continue creating jewelry after a few classes but lack the necessary equipment and space at home, the Create Together Club might be perfect for you.

By joining this club, you’ll have access to studio bench spaces and tools, and become part of a supportive community of makers in a welcoming environment.

Create Together Club – What is available?

  • One of 4 available benches with bench peg, bench skin, bench light, hand tools (piercing saw, pliers, files) in a light and airy studio.
  • Soldering station(s) with handheld torches and safety pickle
  • Various solders (pallions and paste)
  • Barrel tumbling machines
  • Dapping set and Sandbag
  • Pendant motor
  • Vice
  • Ring and bangle mandrels
  • Letter punch set
  • Disc etc. cutters
  • Hammers – rawhide, nylon, texture, repousse etc.
  • Ring Strecher and reducer
  • 8 Tonne Hydraulic Press
  • Rolling Mill

Create Together Club Information

The Cost

  • Renting a bench on a rolling monthly contract costs £130 per month for 4 weekly sessions of 3 hours, totaling 12 hours.
  • If you cannot commit to coming every week, you have the option to book the bench on a weekly basis, which will cost £35 for 3 hours.

Bringing Your Own Tools

  • You are allowed to bring your own tools and materials.
  • There is access to electricity in the studio if you wish to use your own pendant drill or other electrical equipment.
  • Please ensure that anything you bring to the studio is labeled with your name.

Materials Availability

  • Limited amounts of silver etc. may be available for purchase on the day.
  • The prices silver is determined per gram, and costs will be based on Cooksongold prices.

The Create Together Club that runs on Wednesday Mornings 10am-1pm.
September 2025: 17th, 24th
October 2025: 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th
November 2025: 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th
December 2025: 3rd, 10th, 17th

Studio Safety and Rules

  • Wear safety glasses when you use a machinery
  • Use a dust mask when filing, sanding or polishing, especilly if you are using pendant dril etc.
  • Wear an apron to protect your clothing
  • Long hair needs to be tied back
  • No open-toe shoes in the studio
  • Do not wear clothing or jewellery that hangs-off the body that might be a danger while using tools and machinery
  • Be careful when using soldering station / blowtorches / kiln
  • Take careful when using hazardous substances such as acid pickle and barrel compound
  • Do not enter or use the studio when intoxicated with alcohol or drugs
  • Club members are all have different levels of knowlege and skills so please be courteous with your fellow jewellery makers.
  • Please folow current goverment Covid-19 guidelines
  • Please use common sense with everything you do in the studio and ask help if you are unsure of anything.

Terms and Conditions
Age 18+
Not suitable for beginners, the bench rental / CTC is not a tutored session.
Bench rental is only available for copper, silver or gold work including metal clay and enamelling.
In order to secure your place you will need to pay the booking fee.
On your first visit you will be given a studio induction to make sure that you are familiar with the tools /machines and you are confident and safe on all of them.
You will be asked to read and sign a liability waiver on your first session.


Cancellations
By attendees
If it is four weeks in advance of the workshop date a full refund or a date change will be offered.
For cancellations of two weeks or less no refund will be offered but alternative dates will be offered.
By the instructor
If a cancellation is necessary due to illness etc – attendees will be offered an alternative date or a full refund

Accessibility
The studio is located in the upper ground floor of the building. There are 3 steps in the building to reach the studio and unfortunately there is no ramp facility for this level change.

Silverkupe Jewellery is situated in Ouseburn, the artistic engine-room of Newcastle, in the Biscuit Box Studios. BBox Studios are easily accessible via public transport and walking distance to many major transport links (bus, metro, train).

There are also carparks available within the area.

There are many cafes and shops around the studio where you can take your break or meet with a customer.
