Studio Safety and Rules

Working within a jewellery studio carries inherent risks due to the handling of hot, sharp, and heavy tools. Prior to commencement, it is imperative that all individuals thoroughly review the studio regulations and safety guidelines provided below.

You might want to take following precautions during your workshop:

  • Wear safety glasses when you use a machinery
  • Wear a dust mask when filing, sanding or polishing
  • Wear an apron to protect your clothing

You must do the following:

  • Long hair needs to be tied back
  • Do not wear open-toe shoes in the studio
  • Do not wear clothing or jewellery that hangs-off the body that might be a danger while using tools and machinery

And most importantly…

  • Be careful when using soldering station / blowtorches / kiln
  • Be careful when using hazardous substances such as acid pickle, barrel compound and gas canisters
  • Please refrain from entering or utilising the studio while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or when excessively fatigued.

Please use your common sense in all studio activities and don’t hesitate to ask for help if you’re unsure about anything.
